Introduction
Welcome to the City Gallery!
The City Gallery is the first planning and infrastructure gallery in Hong Kong. It is a unique exhibition venue featuring Hong Kong’s major planning proposals and infrastructure projects. It also shows us our city’s future development outlook.
The City Gallery was formerly known as the Hong Kong Planning and Infrastructure Exhibition Gallery which was opened in 2002. The former Gallery, originally located on the ground floor of the City Hall Annex Building, was closed in April 2009 for refurbishment and expansion. During the closure of the building for such works, the Gallery was relocated to the ground floor of the Murray Road Multi-storey Car Park Building to maintain continuous services to the public.
The permanent Gallery, renamed as “City Gallery”, opens in 2012.
Visual Identity
In order to illustrate the dazzling charm and spirited assets of Hong Kong, our underlying principle of the design "City Expression" is to retrieve its vibrant and unique look and feel, which include the rolling ridge lines (Green layer), building profile and skyscrapers (Grey layer) and the spectacular night scene reflection of the Victoria Harbour (Rainbow color bar).
"City Expression" aims at showing the cosmopolitan outlook of Hong Kong which is blended into a harmonious and inspiring place to discover. To experience a fusion of the historical and metropolis face of Hong Kong, definitely you can admire the spirit of local arts, creativity and energy across our community.
